Biography

I am a PhD candidate in Crop Protection (Nematology), specializing in plant-nematode interactions. My research investigates the impact of root-knot nematodes (Meloidogyne incognita) on cowpea (Vigna unguiculata), including mechanisms of resistance, penetration and emigration pathways, and histopathological changes induced by nematode infection. I am also involved in evaluating the role of the rhizosphere microbiome in modulating nematode invasion and host resistance. This work contributes to the development of nematode-resistant cowpea varieties and advances understanding of host-parasite interactions in leguminous crops.
