I earned both my Master's and Doctoral degrees from the Department of Plant Pathology at Washington State University, USA, specializing in the study of the fungal pathogen Puccinia striiformis (Ps) responsible for stripe rust diseases in cereal crops. My research encompassed diverse projects, including: a) Investigating the epidemiology and population genetics of fungal diseases; b) Unraveling the molecular mechanisms underlying plant-microbe interactions; c) Exploring genome evolution and the genomic basis of host adaptation in rust fungi; d) Analyzing 3D genome features of plant pathogenic fungi. Throughout my PhD, I developed a profound interest in leveraging advanced sequencing techniques and analyses to explore various facets of plant-pathogen interactions, spanning genomics, transcriptomics, and epigenomics. I possess extensive experience in genome assembly and annotation.

Excited to bring my expertise to the Crop Science Centre, I am joining as a bioinformatician. My goal is to apply state-of-the-art bioinformatics tools to contribute to the advancement of research in crop science, with a focus on achieving sustainable food production.
