Congratulations to Dr Tania Chancellor, Postdoctoral Research Associate at the Crop Science Centre, University of Cambridge, who has been awarded a prestigious Knowledge Transfer Innovation Fellowship by LifeArc.
The fellowship aims to equip academic life scientists with the skills and knowledge necessary to transition into a career in technology transfer; a profession that supports the translation of academic research into real-world applications that benefit society.
Tania’s success in securing this fellowship is particularly noteworthy because she is the only awardee with a plant science background. She will now join a cohort of 17 fellows from diverse scientific backgrounds, spanning six different countries.
“I am delighted to be awarded the LifeArc fellowship. Coming from a plant science background, opportunities to gain the skills and experience needed to transition into the technology transfer profession can be difficult to find. This fellowship will provide invaluable training and a unique chance to broaden my professional network. I am really looking forward to building connections and gaining new perspectives from my fellow awardees!”
Dr Anji Miller, who leads the LifeArc Fellowship programmes, says: “The LifeArc Knowledge Transfer Innovation programme helps to ensure that future scientific discoveries reach patients and improve lives. Our fellows receive world class training, mentoring and access to resources. As trained technology transfer professionals, they will go on to help transfer promising science from the laboratory bench to the patient. We are pleased to welcome Dr Chancellor and our other successful LifeArc Knowledge Transfer Innovation 2024 fellows to the programme, and we look forward to supporting them on the next step of their career.”
